Nasty Neighbours

We have been living in our home (no longer a home but a trap) for over 30 years - in UK civil law it means that we have a right of way, no matter who owns it.   We have accessed our back garden via shared drive and piece of land for as long as we have lived here.    Our neighbours have decided that the land belongs to them and we should no longer use it (legal communication).   We have disputed it, but have to prove it.    We have been living in our home at least 20 years longer than them and have used the shared drive and land for over 30 years.   He stores the rubbish from his business in a pile near our back gate (which backs onto the land he says we should not use.   I cannot move & feel trapped, intimidated, bullied and pretty fed up.

The Neighbour two doors down has joined in, so that we are definitely not able to use the shared drive, by blocking it with his company vehicle everyday and night.   It appears to be there most of the time - difficult for us to really tell as we go out to work to pay our bills and taxes.

I suppose it could be worse I could be homeless.

Save the Earth

Everything, from the most unassuming moss or insect to elephants or towering oak trees, had its role, and together they made the whole. Humankind was just one small part.” on Alexander von Humboldt in “The Invention of Nature”

A good month of the new year has passed, so time for a new year's resolution I think.......................................

After a bout of a very heaving cold (with some flu like symptoms), have decided I need to get back to blogging and actually make an effort.   So where are we.   Will our beloved Quadped Son (QS) has now been on the other side of the rainbow bridge for over one and a half years, but it still feels a bit raw.    Everyone says we should ask a new QS to join our family and home, but we now both work full time and we cannot see a way of giving the time to whoever decided to join us.   So will just have to wait to see if life throws the opportunity at us and we catch it.

Oh yes back to resolutions - 1) Start a craft project and finish it
                                                   2) Start making my own clothes again
                                                   3) Loose weight to give my joints a bit less stress

Three I think is a good number - so that will be it for now.    Status so far - Number 1 - I have 4 projects I need to finish already > Number 2 - got a couple of patterns I think I might use & Number 3 - joined an online weight loss club - how 21st century am I - only been a week, so other than filling in my log and pre checking everything I eat cannot give a status update.

At the weekend will take some pictures and post, with some positive steps taken towards the resolutions.  Maybe something wonderful will happen.

See you on the flipside (Julian Lenon says that each weekend on his facebook page, I love it and am going to borrow it until I am told I am not allowed to use it!)

A wonderful evening at The Radio Times Festival 2015

Wilbo Waggins - 1999-2014
Been away for a while & well today is a sad day.........

Today we lost our lovely Willbo Waggins.   He was very much loved.    It was just his time - 15yrs 6 mths (think that was around 108 dog years).     We will miss him so very very much.     Just some pictures of his many moods and great facial expressions.

Just one more thing..............

Growing up in the 70's, the shows that dominated the TV airwaves, were Detective Series.     I loved them all, Starsky & Hutch (swoon), Kojak (who loves ya baby), The Sweeney, Policewoman, Hawaii 5'O (never knew what that meant), The Rockford Files, Cannon, Shaft, McCloud, The Streets of San Francisco, Cagney & Lacey, McMillian and Wife, The Gentle Touch and my lifelong favourite Columbo!   Below is a picture of them all - how many can you link to the picture:o)

Well tried to do a bit of crochet (thought it might be more possible than knitting - i.e. one handed or 1.25 handed, but no go.    Did do some one handed washing up - it took a while, but got it finished.    Anyway back to the detectives & my ability to not be able to do very much.  A friend offered another detective show that only managed 3 episodes (so a rarity) and was filmed in Rome (one of my favourite cities).  I love watching programmes that are made in locations in places I have visited.   Dug out some of my craft magazines I thought I would read again, fired up the PC to do some e-mail and facebook catching up & put on "Zen" (it's Venetian!).   It stars Rufus Sewell (a M3 actor - mean moody & magnificent).   I really enjoyed it - in fact took my attention away from my other plans.  Thought I would at least share the theme music - which is quite cool in a M3ish way;o)  Enjoy.

Back to boredom.  Signing out.

I Love my Happy Hippy
We went to see Imelda May in Kent recently - was a great evening.  HH, as always, found it hard to stop himself filming a couple of the songs she and her band played.   One of the songs was a new one, & is going to be on her album in June 2014.  HH got permission from her management to post it on YouTube - the words were written by her brother & it is about his niece.   It is soooo adorable, I just needed to share with blogland.   Only way I seemed to be able to is via a link - this modern world is still a bit of a mystery.   Link   Little Pixies by Imelda May

Bored bored bored bored bored...........

Only two days of not being able to use my hand & not able to go to work.   In normal circumstances, I would be working on some project or other.   So, music, reading, videos, blogs, looking through old photos - love modern technology.
The Ole Quadped enjoying a good scratch on a steam train journey - that was a great holiday.   The weather was wonderful, the place we rented was heavenly.   The Happy Hippy did lots of paintings & photography.  We did lots of walks, I learnt to crochet using Very Pink's videos.   Great holiday.

Phone camera's can be so good.   Took a quick snap of a great sky one day at work.

Saw Imelda at Hampton Court. Wonderful evening.

Things not so bad.    Just some imagination needed.    Back to reminissing x
